Projects
that Lauren has been involved with
Brigg
Sixth Form College : four students work on a GNVQ project with
Lauren to design new stained glass windows for the school library.
BDP
architects commissioned Lauren to create artworks on the theme
of "the seasons" for the Cathedral Gardens, Manchester's new Millennium
Quarter green space. Her work is featured on the northwestpublicart.org.uk
site and the CABE
site.
Arts
& Business has provided Lauren with support to transfer
skills learned with community groups to a business context. With
their support, Lauren worked with Unilever R&D Port Sunlight
to extend their project, StimUlate
, aimed at releasing creativity from its employees.
CowParade :
In 2004 Lauren was commissioned by Manchester
Airport to create a cow for the CowParade
exhibition with schools in Wythenshawe. The result was a jewel
like leisurely cow, adorned with a million tiny pieces of glass.
The design was based on the planet Earth, with Manchester right
in the centre. Magicow's permanent home is now Wythenshawe forum.
You can find reports of the project at manchesteronline
or by downloading the CowParade newsletter
.
